Since receiving her EnergySolutions Foundation scholarship in 2009, Majdolene has continued to excel in science and engineering. During her junior year, her team won first place at the state Envirothon competition. Majdolene’s team then competed at nationals in Fresno, CA where they took 13th place. As a senior, her team again went to nationals.
Majdolene also competed in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair during her junior year. She won first place and Best of Category for her science project which involved using a biodegradable, environmentally safe polymer to prevent water erosion and soil loss.
Majdolene just began her freshman year at MIT, where she will be studying environmental and civil engineering.
